But what exactly is lifestyle photography?
Lifestyle photography features individuals and families with the intention to capture real-life events or milestones in an artistic way. It's emotive, candid and real with minimal posing and an emphasis on connection. It's not smiling for the camera, although you can! It's letting the camera (and photographer) peek in to your life and document the authentic & natural moments.
The goal is to capture the art of the everyday and make it visually appealing.
It's storytelling.

In-home newborn sessions are unique to each family.
They tell your story, from the comfort of your home. No rush getting everyone ready and out the door.. making sure the diaper bag is packed and baby is strapped in the carseat. In-home newborn sessions are my absolute favorite to shoot. There is little to no posing. From diaper changes to feedings to lounging on the couch, I document it all!

Inviting a stranger in to your home to follow you around and take pics can feel awkward.
The goal of a lifestyle photographer is to bring ease and reassurance. It's knowing when to step back, when to guide, and when to joke around. We feel out the vibe and try to make it a comfortable and even fun experience. As much or as little of your home can be used for the session. It could be as simple as hanging out in the living room, or venturing in to different rooms. It's completely up to you.
